Dear Ones,

Thank you so much for your presence tonight. It was just what I needed. Hearing you making your vows to your ancestors filled me with so much strength. I came in feeling vulnerable and frazzled and left feeling inspired and hopeful. You all are blessings to the world.

Tonight’s ceremony was a benefit, 100% of donations will go to the PCRF. Suggested donation is $25, pay what you can but even 5 dollars can get someone water and food, or antibiotics so their wounds don’t get infected.

If you weren’t able to make it to the ceremony live and are watching later, you can watch it on the Full Moon, or later if you need to. There are so many nuggets of magical teachings in the ceremonies, you’ll benefit from it no matter when you watch it. You can even do it on Halloween/Samhain.

Homework: Working with the Samhain Moon

• Take one step towards fulfilling your Ancestral Dedications this week

• Dedicate positive actions in the name of your ancestors (“In the name of my ancestors, I am completing the entire 60 page reading of Marx tonight.”)

• Open yourself to receiving messages through dreams, synchronicity, culture

• Create an ancestral altar and place your ancestral dedication upon it

• Give them offerings in place or on your altar

• On the night of the Full Moon

• Journal about your experience tonight or about the meaning of the spell at some point over the next few days.

• If you’re feeling lots of feelings, notice what they are about. Just observe and notice. Your feelings are important. You can work out what to do about them later but for now just feel them and offer yourself compassion.

• Check in with last months intentions. What’s happened for you over the last month.

• Go out and sit and look at the moon for at least 5 to 10 minutes.

Journal Prompts:

• What does it meant to you to consent to not being a single being? If you’re not only you, whom are you?

• Who or what are the ancestors?

• What does it mean to be a good ancestor?

Know someone who has some ancestral work to do? Invite them to join the Mystery Cult.

Ancestral Dedication Prompt

Write these out and place them on your altars, or write them in your book of shadows. And remember, when you come upon rough times, what you’ve written below is WHO YOU ARE. You wrote this in the presence of your ancestors and a coven of witches who love you. If you need strength, here it is.

I am [your full name].

Child [or daughter or son] [state the name of someone you think of as parent].

Child [or daughter or son] [elements from the land of your birth that you are a child of].

To my ancestors I offer [state what you want to give your ancestors].

From my ancestors I ask [state what you would like to request of your ancestors].

To the life force who is my mother, lover, and friend [modify as you see fit]

I vow [state what you vow to do in honor of the life force, what is your commitment].

I am [state your full name], [state your roles, let yourself SHINE, no need to be modest]

As we enter the dark moon time of year, I greet the darkness with [state how you will greet the coming dark].

• The Universe Universe Universe poem/chant is from my mother’s Book of Shadows, I’m not sure who made it originally, either her coven did or … they borrowed it from somewhere. Dunno.
