New Moon in Gemini Ritual for this Evening
Rituals and Reminders for the New Moon and Saturn in Aries
This weekend I was reminded that the most powerful rituals can be the most simple when I went with my friend Max to his graduation from Pacifica. (Congratulations, Max!)
At the end of the ceremony, to signify the initiation had been completed, the graduates were instructed to move the tassels on their caps from the right side to the left.
It’s a small gesture, but because it’s part of such a long tradition, and because it’s a clear visual, material signifier, it gives the graduate a sense of completion and accomplishment. An, “and now it’s done,” kind of a feeling.
When I got home from the ceremony, I was tired. I’d had the flu all week, and I didn’t really feel like doing my Saturn in Aries ritual. But I decided that I’d power through it because I really want to make the most of the Saturn in Aries transit, since, as I said in the Saturn in Aries Witch Guide that came out last week…

…Saturn in Aries offers us the wisdom of the controlled burn…
…the First Nation’s land stewardship technique that clears the underbrush, nourishes the soil, and helps the trees of the land grow strong.
I meant to just do the ritual quickly, but then once I started I got involved in it, and felt like I was having such a powerful experience with Saturn and learning so much that I ended up taking my time with it.
But as I was doing the ritual I was reminded…
…Rituals create our relationships with the spirit world.
If we don’t do the rituals we lose out on the relationships.
I say all of this to remind you of two things on this New Moon:
If you want to work with the power of the spheres, you have to do the rituals.
The rituals can be as simple switching your tassel from one side of your hat to the other.

The New Moon in Gemini, exact tonight, May 26, 2025, at 8:01 p.m. PST, emphasizes communication, exchange, brainstorming, planning, refining our message, gaining clarity, and reinventing and re-aligning ourselves. Practice your Gemini New Moon ritual to help you change your perspective on something that’s been bothering you, embrace curiosity, and recognize the learning opportunities in your recent challenges.
3 Simple Rituals for the New Moon in Gemini and 1 Demanding One
Go back through your Book of Shadows (or your journal) and reflect on your experiences from the past Moon cycle since the New Moon in Taurus. Write down your intentions for this next Moon cycle.
Make an altar for the Gemini New Moon. Altars are attractive magic that calls in the attention of the spirits through a process called sympathetic magic.
Draw a card for guidance over the next moon cycle. Write about where you see the power of Gemini at work in the card, and what the aims of that power are as you see them represented in the image.
Do the Saturn in Aries ritual provided in the Witch Guide. Gemini rules the third house of communication, which makes tonight the perfect time to reach out to Saturn and invite him to collaborate.
