Aries Full Moon is the Listening Moon?
Risk hearing the message that's been knocking inside you for years.
Inside: A guide to the meaning of this moon, general lore about the moon for witches, a list of ways to prepare for the ritual, and general thoughts about listening to your intuition.
ALL HAIL THE TURNING MOON
In many cultures, the moon closest to the Autumn Equinox is known as the Turning Moon. Leaves begin changing their colors, summer turns to autumn, the grape harvest begins fermenting into wine.
Similarly, this moon offers a chance for us to make major transitions in our own lives.
Last week, I shared how my intuition had been nudging me to pursue my PhD for ten years, until I finally realized that unless I listened to that call, the dream wouldn’t leave me alone.
Not many people associate the Aries Moon with listening, it’s the hard headed sign of the ram afterall. Aries is the the sign of the explorer, the self leaping into form. But it’s also partnered with the Sun in Libra, the sign of relationship and diplomacy.
Often, we resist listening to our intuition because it’s asking us to take a risk.
The Libran tool of listening is a requirement if we want to be able to access our intuition, but our intuition rarely calls us to make the most comfortable choice — which is why we need the courage of the Aries for support.
This week, during our Full Moon Ritual tomorrow night, we’ll be doing work to help YOU find the courage to listen to the message that you’ve been too scared to hear, and then like the Ram, take action on it.
Love,
Amanda

MOON LORE
While the eight pagan holidays of the Wheel of the Year are solar holidays, rituals done according to phases of the moon are known as esbats. Esbats are times to come together and support each other on our spiritual journeys.
Witches see Full Moons as times of heightened energy, illumination, and spiritual potency. They’re an opportunity for us to deepen our spiritual practice and connect with lunar forces.
Each Full Moon is an invitation to re-attune to the rhythms of the natural world; connect with our intuition; practice working with the tools of witchcraft; and seek the council and protection of our teachers, deities, ancestors and guides.
THE MOON RITUAL
Tuesday 9/26/23 6pm PT: Full Moon in Aries Ritual. (Please note the date for this ritual has changed).
Technically, the Full Moon falls on Friday the 29th, but we’re celebrating it on the 26th this month. The exciting thing about this is that on the 26th, we’ll begin a spell together, and then you’ll have some simple spellwork to do over the next few days as the moon gathers in potency.
You will have three days to practice, as the illuminating powers of the moon ramp up, and listen deeply to the voice inside that has been calling you to pay attention.
Spells that take multiple days to accomplish are often the most effective, so I’m excited to do this practice with you and see what comes of it.
PREPARE FOR THE CEREMONY:
(if you don't have any/all of these items, don't worry about it, just do your best and use your intuition)
Create an altar (water, candle, incense or feather, stone or bones)
Candles: 1 confidence spell candle (orange preferred, or white), plus your altar candle
A nail or carving implement
Olive oil
A wet washcloth
A plate (for rolling the candle)
Incense or burning herbs (clove, cinnamon, pinon, smoke are all good bets)
A journal and writing implement
