There’s something so satisfying about attending to our craft. I think of master woodworkers who know about different kinds of trees and how they grow, the woods they yield, the shapes they like to be in, those craftspeople who can create seamless joints in their cabinetry, and treasures that can last for generations of use.
Our witchcraft can be like this as well. We can identify our tools, the way they work. We can put them into practice, we can refine our practice. Then, ultimately, we can rely on it.
For me, skill creates a sensation of safety. No matter what is going on in our lives, we can return to that home, a place that we know intimately, and are always welcome.
