Okay, so I’ve been obsessed with this song for a while, and I often listen to it when I want to get into a happy mood. Many of you will be familiar with it because… it accidentally started playing during our Dream World meditation on the last Full Moon! Lol. Hilarious. Bet you didn’t expect to hear Busta Rhymes when meeting your daemon. This is the song to listen to if you want to think of the Otherworld as your happy place. 😄
Currently Eating: The Best Lentils Ever!
Have I given you this recipe before? Okay, well, you NEED IT. It’s the simplest recipe, you just put water, bouillon, sliced onion, red lentils, olive oil, salt and pepper in a pot and boil it for half an hour. You don’t even need to sauté the onion! [Important for all you ADHD witches out there who resort to popcorn dinners when you’re feeling overwhelmed]. Besides, it’s DELICIOUS. So good with crusty bread. I put a squeeze of lemon juice, ground cumin, and a sprinkling of feta on top before I serve it.

So, this text is the first I was thinking of reading for our Book Club (which should actually be called Essay Club for Time Challenged witches).
I chose this text because it’s about art, creativity, witchcraft, and the disparity between how witches think of themselves and how the media reports on them. I can’t wait to hear what you all think of it!

Magical Practice I’m Currently Enjoying:
Recently I was participating in a group somatics workshop, and as we began they had everyone go around and introduce themselves and say why they were there. I did the first part, but then I forgot to say the second part. A huge part of me wanted to go up to one of the leaders afterwards and say why I was there — I just needed it to be said out loud, I needed a witness. Without saying it out loud in the presence of others, I felt like my intention could dissipate into the ethers of my mind.
This is something I think about often when I’m in session with my clients. A huge part of magic is calling in the spirits and stating, out loud, to powerful witnesses, what your intentions are…
…whether that intention is healing, calling in love, or abundance, or the completion of a creative project.
When I lead my clients in a session, I always invoke our guardians, our ancestors, our guides, I call upon my helping spirits and yours — and then I have you say out loud what your heart desires from our session.
And then it’s like… hold on to your hat, honey, because what you say in the presence of these powerful spirits is already on its way.
