Inside: Thoughts on the pleasures of making magic, the results of the Imbolc candle spells for Founder’s level subscribers, and instructions on writing an effective spell petition.

Invoking Brigid on Imbolc for the Founder’s Subscriber Candle Spell.

It’s been a month since I did your Founder’s Level Candle Spell for New Beginnings out in Malibu. As you can see in the image, it was a beautiful day. Having just rained, the air was crisp and clear, a deep winter light to everything.

Like a crone carrying a sack of stones, I lugged all my candles up the to the top of the mountain, huffing and puffing. Grateful for the cold air whisking the sweat off the back of my neck.

On my way up, an auspicious sign greeted me.

A gopher.

You’ll remember from my post on the Festival of Imbolc that when ground dwelling animals come out to greet you, it’s is a sign that spring is near.

A good omen!

So many candles! But the really special ones are from TheyFriend Candles, Mithras Candles, and artist Theresa Sterner.

During the era of the pastoral Celts, February was when the pregnant ewes would give birth. The leanest months of winter were over. Fresh food became available once again. I’m told ewe’s milk is delicious! (Never tried it!)

Imbolc is also known as Candlemas.

I admit that I - unfortunately - do not spend nearly enough time herding sheep or drinking their milk. But! I do work with candles year round. So I use Imbolc to invoke Brigid, goddess of fire, holy wells, healing, and smithcraft, to bless my candles for the year.

These candles included the ones for your Founder’s Level Candle Spell for Spring Awakenings.

I danced and invoked Brigid’s blessings to bring the energy of spring awakening to all your intentions.

So dear Founders, pay attention as we make our way towards Ostara - the Spring Equinox on March 19th - which is the holiday of rebirth.

By then, the Imbolc spell will have had time to work, and you should see the fresh green shoots of new life appearing in the areas where you set your intentions for our work.

During my candle spells, I raise a cone of power drawn from the elements, the mountains and wind, the sunlight, the hawks circling overhead, and direct it into supporting your magical intentions. It’s like I’m standing beneath you, offering my magical support as you climb over whatever walls are keeping you from your desires.

Dress by Osei Duro, a fave of mine.

Just a reminder that I do these candle spells for my Founder’s Level subscribers 8 times a year, on every Wheel of the Year holiday.

To buy a candle spell as a one off (which I rarely offer) is $40 per spell. If you were to do it at each holiday that would be $320 per year. Founders Level subscribers get all eight spells FREE with the cost of membership. That means you get ALL of the benefits of the regular subscription PLUS these candles spells for $280 per year.

Founders could not come to any of the Full Moon rituals, use any of the monthly Witch Guides, nor join any reading group, nor Live Chat, and STILL come out $40 ahead with the candle spells!

Also Founders get 10% off 1-1 sessions with me AND they will get first dibs on tickets for my upcoming Witchcraft 1: Filling the Well live Summer Solstice retreat here in Los Angeles. (Going on sale soon!)

Dang, y’all!
