Happy Freya’s Day!
Best APPS for Stretching
So last week my APP for ADHD witches was such a hit I thought I’d give you another one (okay, two). Lately I’ve been so busy that I have had to really carve out time to take care of myself. Sometimes I’m so brain dead by the end of the day that I don’t know what to do with myself. Using these stretching APPs helps keep me limber and feels like a nourishing gift to myself. I always feel so good after I use them.
I recommend the BEND APP for folks who are new to stretching or who just want something basic. It’s cheap and cheerful, and extremely doable with several short stretch series options (think 7 minutes).
I recommend the PLIABILITY APP for folks who want something a little more advanced and in depth, you do have to get a subscription for this one, but if you like/need deep stretching I think it’s worth it.
New Tarot Deck - The Dreamer’s Tarot
Made by Marcella Kroll this beautiful new deck has a feel that his hand drawn and personal. What I especially like about the “Little White Book” (which is actually rainbow colored) that comes comes with the deck is the attitude it has towards reversals: as opportunities for healing and growth. For instance, the 5 of Swords, which normally has things like “envy, betrayal” for the reversal, in this deck has “making amends, letting go of resentments.” We need more of that in the world!
BTW, Marcella was a guest on my Between the Worlds podcast talking about the 5 of Swords a ways back, you can listen to our episode with her here:
New Tarot Book - Red Tarot by Christopher Marmolejo
You know a tarot book is going to be good when they reference Toni Morrison, bell hooks, and Paulo Friere on the back cover! The author, Christopher Marmolejo is “a Brown, queer and trans writer, diviner, and educator,” with an MA and a decolonial Black queer feminist epistemology. This book is THICK with good things! You can nab your copy here.
Best Astrology Book for Beginners - Astrology for Your Self by Demetra George and George Block
A few days ago I sent out a post saying that we could think of the planets in astrology like gods, and I went into some intermediate level thoughts about that. One gentle reader said that they needed some baby astrologer basics and asked about the best basic book to read. Here’s my favorite, Astrology for Yourself by Demetra Geroge and Douglas Bloch. It’s a work book and these folks KNOW their shit. It’s rigorous and goes through everything you need to know to get a good grounding in astrology. Highly recommend!

A (Decolonial) Prayer for the Land
Many of you share my interest in finding ways to connect with the land that don’t re-inscribe harmful settler colonial relations to the land.
Below you’ll find a prayer I use to before I start working in the lands where I live, which belong to the Tongva, Kizh, and Chumash people…
