Inside: I’ve got some delightful things I want to share with you, dear Witches! Read on for ADHD witch tips, philosophers who talk ecological sense, crow familiars and more!

Dear Witches,

Happy Venus Day! Get your Venus Day Love List below!

Love,

Amanda

  1. Let the Sun Give You a Re-Charge: I’m excited to announce my first ever live three-day retreat beginning on the Summer Solstice (June 21st - 23rd). It’s called Witchcraft 1 – Filling the Well. It’s made to give participants a solid foundation in witchcraft, AND to rejuvenate, restore, and replenish you so that you can pour your magic on the world from a full cup. More will soon be revealed for the general public, but my subscribers will get first dibs for the limited number of spaces. (Founders first, then Yearly, then monthly). Mark your calendars, huzzah in all directions!

My favorite Sun card from the Aquarian tarot deck.
  2. ATTN Social Media Addicts: One of our dear Mystery Cult members, Todd Breihaupt, suggested this APP to me and it has changed my life over night. It’s an APP that prevents you from going on social media or whatever other time sucks you have on your phone! It’s called Opal, and I’m pretty sure all ADHD witches need it. Here’s my week’s proudest moment – Instagram for only 1/2 an hour!

The Opal App documenting my freedom.

  1. My New Favorite Philosopher: I recently discovered the work of Murray Bookchin. He’s an anarchist, ecologist, and social theorist who has exciting, actionable ideas for how we can get ourselves out of this mess we called capitalist “civilization.” Once I found him I went in search of every podcast about his work I could find. Here’s a great place for you to start:

  2. Contemporary Thoughts in Witchcraft: I’ve got an essay coming out in a new anthology of literary witches, which you can pre-order now! (a book’s success is judged by its first week of sales, so pre-orders are EVERYTHING). This book features SO MANY of my favorite witches. I can’t wait to read all their essays. My essay is about my struggle with my ancestry, the MAGA side of my family, whiteness, witchcraft, and the Lord of the Woods. I’m a bit nervous about wrestling with all those thorny issues. But my best writing professor at Cal Arts always said to “write what scares you,” and in that I succeeded! Can’t wait to hear what you think!

Find out more about this new anthology here.

    4. You need to know the crows: I love this new book about crows by Lucy H. Pearce of Womancraft Publishing. I definitely want to use it for one of our future book group meetings. It has poetry, mythology, crows as omens, crows as guides, crows as shapeshifters and initiators. And it’s full of the most beautiful black and white drawings by the author herself. I know you’ll LOVE IT as I do.

All witches love crows, and all witches need this book!

Note also that the author, Lucy Pearce is having an intimate conversation series that I was delighted to participate in. It’s free to join! It’s called Wild Initiations. It’s all about unravelling the symbols that guide us, and the courage it takes to leave the well-trodden path. It’s available for download for just a short while so be sure you check it out today.

Upcoming Events You Don’t Want to Miss!

Radical Witchcraft (Class 4), 3/10/24 11am: In the final class in this series, we will be doing a ritual to access our inner authority (a MAJOR factor in casting off shame), and discussing some of the rebel gods, goddesses, and goddexxs of Witchcraft. Think Circe, Hecate, and more! Free to all Founders and Yearly subscribers, links sent out on Saturday eve.

Reading Group, 3/21/24 6pm: Sick Woman Theory – a foundational text in disability activism. It is taught in classrooms all over the world. It’s an essay that really change my view about care and what it means to live in a body dependent on other bodies.

Full Moon in Libra Ritual, 3/24/24 6pm: an opportunity to restore balance and equanimity within our relationships and nourish justice throughout the world. Collecting donations for UNRWA!

To join our Radical Witchcraft classes, our Full Moon rituals, and our reading group, and more become a paid subscriber today!
