A sign of prayers answered...
How to know when the message went through
The video you see above is an excerpt from my last candle spell ritual, on Samhain, where Founder’s Level subscribers sent petitions in for ancestral clearings and blessings, and I performed a candle ritual on their behalf. In the ritual, first I took the candles to the Arroyo, one of my favorite spots for spells and a place where the spirits are familiar with my magic. Facing west, the direction of the sunset, the Summerlands, and the realms of the beloved dead, I danced the powers of the four elements into the candles and called for the blessings of the pine and the sycamore, the ancestors that nourish us with their bodies, the meadow and the earth, the buckwheat and the wind. I infused the candles with chants, and prayed over them so that they would create only good in my Founder’s lives. I prayed that with every blessing that came to you, it would ripple back into time and heal your ancestral lineage. As a return offering to the spirits, I offered them a libation of moon water gathered on the Full Super Moon in Pisces, the dreaming moon, sprinkling it on the candles themselves to awaken them and on the earth around them. I prayed that more rain would come, and bring life to the land.
When I got home, I set up my altar with food and drink, bouquets of autumnal reds and bright sun flowers. As I began, I spoke the incantation that opens the threshold between the worlds and invited your ancestors in. For each of you who submitted a petition, I chanted your name three times, spoke your petition out loud, and prayed that your ancestors would bless and guide you. As I lit the candles and continued singing, I noticed a soft hush coming in through the open window. The flames on the candles stirred and flickered as the wind swept the room. Rain, unexpectedly, had arrived - a blessing for this parched land, and a sign that our prayers had been answered. A thrill of happiness rushed to my cheeks. Rain! So rare and so needed here in LA. I felt like all your ancestors had gathered together to say, “We heard you. We love you. We’ve got you. Thank you for remembering us.”
I hope you have been paying attention to messages from your ancestors that may have been coming in your dreams. That’s how they told me you would know them.
Next Up the Solstice Candle Spell to Call In the Light…
I do these candle spells on every Wheel of the Year holiday for my Founder’s Level Subscribers.
