Before I went back to school, I went through a years long period of feeling unmoored, uncertain of my next steps.
I knew that I was supposed to root deeper into my practice, my creative work, but I didn’t know how.
I felt like a root bound plant. I knew I had to grow, but my roots couldn’t find a path to water.

The Mystery Traditions are about navigating cycles.
I chose the name Mystery Cult for this project because I was inspired by the work of countless generations of our ancestors creating rituals and knowledge systems to help us cope with living through times of uncertainty.
Looking around, I see that far beyond our personal circumstances, collectively we are root bound. We know we need to grow, but we don’t know how.
Access to resource feels tenuous. Our ecologies and political systems, unstable. Humanity is lost in the desert, our path to the next oasis unclear.
What do we do?
The Full Moon in Virgo is coming up this week. I’m holding my Full Moon ritual this Friday.
Pisces season corresponds to water. The ocean. Salty. Boundless.
Water, water, everywhere. But not a drop to drink.
Virgo brings competence. The skills we need to purify the water, to distill it, to weave baskets to carry it, and create wells to share it.
In times when I’m feeling uncertain, over the years I’ve cultivated tools for locating the waters of inspiration and making them potable.
Three tools to help you navigate times of uncertainty:
IDENTIFY what you’re longing for. Put it just like that: “I am longing for ____.” Often, when we’re uncertain, we focus on what’s not working. But that won’t give us a direction forward.
PRACTICE bodywork. Somatic rituals like centering and grounding can help you return to a state of calm. It’s much easier to see the way forward when we’re not panicking.
CREATE opportunities for resonance. Deities, folk heroes, herbs, and elements all have “vibes,” just like people do. You know that friend you like to hang out with because of their “chill vibe”? They help you chill out too. The beings we engage with — whether they be stones, gods, or friends, or our friends the stone gods — can influence us in a positive direction. By choosing collaborators that resonate with our longings, and then PRACTICING that resonance, we can locate our next step even in times when we’re afraid we’ve lost our path.
I have lots more I want to share about this with you, but it’s easier to do when we are in practice together.
Put 3/14/25, from 6-7:30pm PST on your calendar. Together at our Full Moon ritual this Friday we will practice working the tools we need to locate the path of resonance.
Can’t wait to see you there!

Speaking of Finding Your Path…
We spoke about the meaning of the path in the Moon card, where it leads us, and how to work with it at our Tarot Studio practice session last week. If you couldn’t join us live, but want to watch the replay, you can access the link in the Subscriber section below.
