Hey y'all Mystery Cult devotees! As requested by Erica, I'm starting a new thread to discuss this week's reading group essay, "The Disenchantment of the World (Part 1)" by Morris Berman.
Right now, I'm pondering the part where he's talking about how when we ask "what were the medieval alchemists doing?" we can only really imagine what WE would be doing if we were them -- bc the modern mind can't easily comprehend the world view of people who saw no divide between self and world.
What are y'all noticing?
